PHOTOS: The end of the Sahara

The Sahara closed at 2 p.m. today. Here's how it looked through my point-and-shoot. I wasn't the only one. There were tears, but there were more cameras than tears. And there was a lot of this:

Roulette, all locked up.

Sahara. Empty.

The lady hugging the guy on the right exited saying, "We're the last people out," while this group of photographers and well-wishers pointed toward the door right after 2 p.m. to spot the final finale.

Sign's off.

The final cab line.

The empty parking garage. Till we meet again, Sahara.
