Politics a tough game in any country

PARIS — The front pages here say that Franscois Hollande is trending to be the next president of France. He's a left-center candidate. But his critics, of which there are apparently many on the left, call him "couille molle," which, ahem, means he doesn't have balls. In this context he doesn't have the balls to be truly left. He also is sometimes called "Flanby," which is "after a brand of wobbly caramel pudding."

The current president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, says: "Holland is useless!"

Pardon? Did he mean that in a eunuch sort of way?
