Pomeroy perspective: Will charges ‘encourage’ her to flip in land scam?

Nikki Pomeroy was buried under 22 felony counts in charges related to the Southwest Exchange scam that temporarily netted insiders $97 million, according to the state attorney general’s indictment this week.

But the number of charges in the 1031 exchange case leads some skeptics to believe authorities are listening for hints Pomeroy might be willing to cut a deal against her father, Southwest Exchange central figure Donald McGhan.

Terry Coffing, who successfully represented former Southwest owner Betty Kincaid in a civil case, said in a Monday interview,  “I think the consensus was if she knew where the office was it would be a surprise.  She basically was "shilling for her father. “

The shill is in a world of trouble now.
