Pools, spas make a splash at Tuscan Cliffs residences

Tuscan Cliffs, a luxury development in southwestern Las Vegas, contains water features that may help residents combat the heat during the summer months, according to sales agent Michael Goeth.
Four pools and spas are shown in the builder's Southern Highlands community, where lot sizes start at one-quarter acre.
"All of our home sites are large enough to accommodate a pool and spa in addition to a covered rear patio," Goeth said. "Our models give home buyers an opportunity to see four very different designs that still further our Tuscan theme for the neighborhood."
Among the pools and spas is a rain shower that separates the patio and pool in the Villa de Franchesca model.
"The rain shower can be viewed from both the covered patio and ramada in the backyard," Goeth said. "It creates a very interesting look and can be seen from several rooms in the home. The sounds of the rainfall are very soothing and create a naturally relaxing environment."
Villa de Franchesca's pool features an additional stepped waterfall between the spa and pool.
"And depending on the lot size, this home can be built with a ramada, which is our own version of the traditional cabana or gazebo," Goeth said. "This stucco-finished structure is open on four sides and has a roof in the same styling as that of the home. It is a perfect place to socialize and enjoy our beautiful weather."
In the Villa de Gabriella model, natural stone is used to surround the pool and spa and faux stone boulders complete the look.
"This is one of our most popular water features," Goeth said. "There is a wading pool at one end, a lagoon near the middle and a beautiful backdrop for the spa at the far end."
The natural stone look is continued in the Villa de Gabriella with a slide above an underwater grotto near the spa.
"This pool even has a swim-up bar with stools inside the pool," Goeth said. "A bar area with the same natural stone countertop completes the effect and offers a great place to entertain."
Tuscan Cliffs lets the spa take center stage in its Villa de Giovanni model home.
"This is a very modern design, with a square spa and an elongated pool with sharp angles," Goeth said. "Three staggered sheer-descent waterfalls with the same modern flair add to the striking effect of this feature."
The Villa de Rafael model also contains a pool, spa and waterfalls.
More than 50 configurations are available among the four base models at Tuscan Cliffs.
Each offers a master suite with a separate retreat, rear patio, central courtyard and common areas. Among thousands of available options at every home are home theater systems, structured wiring systems and media networks, elevators, wine cellars and grottos, custom ceiling treatments, swimming pools, outdoor fireplaces, water features and decorator touches.
The builder also recently added stainless-steel Viking appliances, wrought-iron stair railings and granite counters and vanities as standard features.
Premium lots, including some with views of the valley and others that are oversized, are available at the development.
Standard amenities include paverstone driveways, sand-finished stucco exteriors, stainless-steel appliances, exterior stone veneer, 42-inch maple cabinets, granite countertops, 6-foot garden tubs, wood-clad Andersen windows and Kohler plumbing fixtures.
All homes include outdoor kitchens and disappearing glass doors.
Each residence qualifies as an Energy Star home.
Base prices start at just over $1 million.
Residents will receive a one-year social membership to the Southern Highlands Golf Club upon approval, Goeth said.
