Six young kids were served alcoholic drinks at a Joe’s Crab Shack in Colorado by mistake.
The children, ages 2 to 8, were given the “Shark Bite” drink, a version of a children’s drink called a “Shark Nibble.”
The “Bite” cocktail contains rum, vodka and curaçao, according to KKTV.
About 30 minutes after the drinks were served, the Crab Shack waitress returned to take the beverages back.
“Then the managers actually came back with the tray of drinks and then let us know that they had accidentally poured alcohol into our kids’ beverages,” a witness told Mediaite
The 2-year-old had reportedly drunk the entire drink by that point.
Paramedics were called after a child was said not to feel well, according to KKTV. The children were sent home but parents are concerned about the mistake happening again.
The restaurant is investigating the incident internally.
“We do not condone underage service of any kind,” a statement released by the restaurant said. “Our guests can rest assured that our processes are continuously examined so that incidents like this are avoided. “
Colorado Springs police are investigating the incident.
