Providence opens park

Providence, a 1,200-acre master-planned community located at Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway and Hualapai Road, has announced the opening of Providence Promenade.
The nearly half-mile long linear park features winding sidewalk paths that stretch for blocks, providing a venue for resident activities such as jogging, biking or strolling.
Built in the form of a winding paseo, the Providence Promenade includes play areas for children, as well as shaded seating areas along the path.
According to Focus Property Group chairman and Chief Executive Officer John A. Ritter, master planner of Providence, the Promenade at Providence is an ideal park for all ages to enjoy.
"It's a linear park, maybe a half-mile long, and along the way you'll see shaded seating areas and play areas for kids. It's great for runners and bikers because it's kind of uphill, so it's a great place to walk or ride. And the entire Promenade will have wide sidewalks winding through. It is a great way to show the nature of the whole community," he said.
To learn more about Providence, visit the community's information center, which resembles an old-fashioned soda shop, complete with wood siding and a wraparound porch.
The information center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
