Pulte Homes debuts Azure Canyon rooftops

Pulte Homes will introduce two new, two-story floor plans featuring rooftop decks today at Azure Canyon, a new neighborhood at Mountain's Edge, a master-planned community in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley. The company will start selling these homes today.

Completed models open in early summer, according to Nick Parks, director of marketing for Pulte Homes' Nevada division.

"This marks the home builder's first attempt at building rooftop decks," Parks said. According to Parks, the company choose to include rooftops in these homes because research showed home buyers had a desire for more outdoor entertainment areas.

Parks said the decks are just one facet of the new floor plans.

"With backyards large enough for swimming pools, an expansive bonus room on the first floor, and a great room with a built-in media center and kitchen on the second, these homes create a variety of open spaces to suit any occasion," he said. "Of course, the rooftop decks add a whole new dimension, something highly unusual in Las Vegas."

Measuring 2,620 and 2,921 square feet, with rooftop areas, the homes include three or four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. Three other model homes, ranging from 2,632 to 3,352 square feet, are already open at the neighborhood. Prices start in the $470,000s.

The home builder will offer a bonus -- a built-in home theater system in the family room, including a Sony DVD player, 46-inch plasma-screen television and surround system -- for buyers who purchase before the end of May, Parks said.

The homes include two-car garages and multiple balconies. Each design includes the builder's Signature Standards package, featuring brand-name amenities, such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, York heating and air-conditioning, Mohawk flooring, Sherwin-Williams paint, Kohler fixtures and G.E. appliances.

The homes are constructed with Environments for Living building technology. To visit, take Interstate 15 to Blue Diamond Road, go west to Buffalo Drive, head south to Mountain's Edge Parkway, then drive east and follow the signs to the neighborhood.
