R-J website popularity gains; Sun slips

Here are the latest web traffic rankings from Hitwise for November.

The Review-Journal again remained the Big Dog news website in Nevada. The R-J was ranked the 76th largest print website in the U.S. and the 159th largest website in the News and Media category, which includes print, electronic media and web portals like Google and Yahoo. The R-J improved 5 positions in November. The Sun slipped 35 positions No. 597. The Reno Gazette-Journal jumped up 76 positions to the rank of No. 752.

The local television stations improved slightly their rankings in November to this:

Channel 8: No. 1276
Channel 5: No. 1405
Channel 3: No. 1686
Channel 13: No. 1756

So, in a nutshell, all significant news websites in Nevada improved their rankings in November, except the Sun, which slipped 35 positions. Hitwise is an independent ranking service and considered the gold standard in the measurement of website viewership. Below is a graph from Hitwise showing how the cow ate the cabbage.
