Rare Colts for sale here

San Francisco-based Greg Martin Auctions has announced the Colt Factory Archives Collection — part one of three (430 of 1,200 items), including samples, prototypes, experimental firearms and one-of-a-kind pieces from the Colt Factory Archives, as well as the Buck Stevens Collection of 77 exceptional Colts, including the historic Colt Single Action Army Revolver Serial No. 1 — will go up for bids in Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon Jan. 18 in connection with the Las Vegas Antique, Sporting Arms and Custom Knifemakers Show.

Like the show, the auction will be held at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, 2901 Las Vegas Blvd. South.  Previews for the January auction, free to the public, will also be held at the Riviera, Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Internet bids are solicited. In my experience, that means there aren't likely to be any "cheap leftovers" at day's end.
