Reader — Your headline was too funny!

I absolutely love it when readers interact with us at the newspaper. Here's one that came in this morning. I'm sure he's not the only reader to get a kick out of the president's "blame game" speech in Las Vegas last night:

It’s not often that I bust out with laughter over a headline.
But a line on today’s R-J front-page tickled my funny bone with:

Obama denounces GOP for driving U.S. economy in ditch

Too bad it wasn’t above the fold.
One-and-a-half years in office and Obama, who has run up gigantic deficits, is still blaming the GOP --- or Bush.
Incidentally, I noted that the headline writer had to go to the 30th paragraph of Laura Myers story in which to base that front-page subhead.
And the “forward” main line is based on a tired phrase in the 36th paragraph.
