Union Park Hires Marketing Director
Newland Communities, development manager of Union Park, the 61-acre mixed-use master-planned urban center located in downtown Las Vegas on land owned by the city of Las Vegas, announced the appointment of Nancy Higgins as marketing director for Union Park.
In this position, Higgins is responsible for the marketing and brand management of Union Park, working closely with the city of Las Vegas and project partners, including Lou Ruvo Brain Institute, The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, World Jewelry Center, the Charlie Palmer Hotel and others as they join the development.
Union Park is expected to be completed in 11 years and is valued at $9 billion.
Higgins is a former executive director of Whirlygig, the arts organization that runs First Friday in Las Vegas.
While living in California, she worked as the marketing director for Balboa Park, San Diego's large urban cultural park.
For several years Higgins served as a marketing consultant and strategic planner for Greenhaus, a mid-sized San Diego ad agency specializing in master plan communities and redevelopment.

Robb & Stucky offer free design classes
Robb & Stucky Interiors at Town Square Las Vegas, a interior design home furnishings retailer, announced its June schedule of in-store design seminars that are free and open to the public. The store gives monthly design workshops.
The first one will be held June 12 at 2 p.m.
Robb & Stucky design director Ellie Stanisci and interior designers Amber Schofield and Renee Marmie will demonstrate how to create beautiful interiors by accenting windows with simple or grand draperies, shades, shutters and blinds.
The second class will be held June 26 at 2 p.m.
The topic on that day is designing high-rise spaces.
Stanisci and designers Julie Cole, Lee Lindquist and Rebecca Wade will talk about the challenges of decorating high-rise spaces. Some discussion topics will include window treatments, furniture placement, furniture scale and building restrictions.
