Pahrump home-buying seminar scheduled
Chateau Homes and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Program will hold an information seminar for prospective home buyers Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Bob Ruud Community Center in Pahrump.
The community center is located at the corner of State Route 160, which runs through the burgeoning Nevada town, and Basin Road at the second stoplight. The town has only two traffic lights.
The event will provide information to home buyers on the nonprofit government loan program that can offer no down payments and interest rates starting at 1 percent. For more information, call Chateau at 775-751-8886 or the USDA at 702-262-9047, Ext. 112.
Realtors to hold fifth annual Safety Week
For the fifth annual Realtors Safety Week, the Nevada Association of Realtors has teamed up with the National Association of Realtors to promote the safety of its members and clients. A comprehensive safety kit and an online class will offer Realtors an opportunity to focus on the everyday risks they face and simple ways to avoid and prevent them.
By designating Sept. 9-15 as safety week, NVAR and the NAR hope to raise awareness to the dangers present while working from home, at the office and on the road.
The national association has distributed a Realtor Safety Kit that includes a DVD, safety tips and materials for Realtors and clients. New this year is the addition of a safety course to NAR's online education program, Realtor University.
