Thunderbirds Touring Europe on the Fourth
Quashing speculation from the community and Summerlin Fourth of July parade organizers that the Air Force Thunderbirds might fly over the well-attended annual event, Capt. Justin McVay, Nellis Air Force Base spokesman, said the demonstration team could not show up in the desert skies for the annual event. He said the Thunderbirds are touring Europe this summer.
State, national Realtors to build home
As a precursor to the annual Realtor Conference and Expo, to be held later this year in Las Vegas, the National Association of Realtors and the Nevada Association of Realtors will team with Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas to a frame the walls of home that will be given to a single mom and her two children.
The wall-raising is part of a long-standing relationship that Realtors have with Habitat for Humanity, last year working with Habitat for Humanity International to provide housing for more than 50 Gulf Coast families left homeless in the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
Realtors from across the state and the country will begin work at 10 a.m. today on the residence at 1933 Gregory St.
This year the presidents and board members from the NAR, NVAR and Greater Las Vegas Realtor Association will attend the event.
