Reid on July unemployment: ‘Disappointing…more evidence job creation must be No. 1 priority’

Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., reacting to today's report that Nevada's unemployment rate rose to 12.9 percent in July, said this in a statement:
"The unemployment figures out today are disappointing and more evidence that job creation must be our number one priority. However, that requires both parties to focus on putting Nevadans back to work and rebuilding our economy. Unfortunately, Republicans in Washington are instead spending their time pursuing an ideological agenda to kill Medicare by turning seniors' healthcare over to private insurance companies rather than creating good paying jobs that can't be shipped overseas. I hope that those who have been delaying our job creation efforts will look at these numbers and finally decide to put the best interests of Nevadans first by working with me to get the economy moving again."
