Reid touts $7 million in energy funds to Clark County

Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., says Clark County is in line to receive another $7.6 million in funding through the American REcovery and Reinvestment Act, money he says will create jobs.

Here's the entire statement from Reid's office: "Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced more than $7.6 million of economic recovery funding is headed to Clark County to help southern Nevada improve energy efficiency, reduce the cost of energy bills, and create green jobs.

Some of the projects that will be funded include energy audits and building retrofits in the residential and commercial sector, the development and implementation of advanced building codes and inspections, and the creation of financial incentive programs for energy efficiency improvements.

“This money will create green jobs and upgrade numerous facilities across southern Nevada,” Reid said. “This is a great example of how the economic recovery act is benefitting Nevada by diversifying our economy, protecting our environment, and creating jobs all at the same time.”
