Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Sharron Angle Announces Radio Ad Launch
March 12, 2010 - 5:08 pm
Meet me in Searchlight.
That's the invitation from Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle in her first campaign radio ad of the season.
In the 60-second spot that's scheduled to begin airing next week, Angle takes on Wall Street, decrying bailouts approved by Washington.
And she notes that she'll be gathering with Tea Party activists and conservatives in the incumbent Democratic Sen. Harry Reid's hometown on March 27 to kick off a cross-country tour.
"I'll be joining thousands of fellow patriots in Searchlight to let Harry Reid and the rest of the politicians know we're taking our country back," Angle says in the radio ad.
The former Reno Assemblywoman calls herself "the conservative Republican candidate" in the crowded GOP primary race – a clear attempt to appeal to the Tea Party movement, which is driven by conservatives who are against high taxes and big government and for encouraging private enterprise instead.
Angle is running behind former state Sen. Sue Lowden and former UNLV basketball star Danny Tarkanian, both of whom are expected to attend the Tea Party event as well.
