Retiree writes poetry about Mountain Falls

As Gail Line starts a new chapter in her life as a resident of Mountain Falls, the longtime Michigan resident is feeling inspired to enjoy retirement at the golf-course community in Pahrump.

"I had lived in Michigan for about 65 years until moving to the Las Vegas area a year ago to live near my sister and to help care for a family member.

"I moved to Las Vegas from a very small town, and coming to Vegas was not just a climate change, but a cultural change for me," said Line, a mother of four and grandmother of four.

"I have a sister who lives part-time in Pahrump, and when I came out here I felt like that this is the place where I'm mean to be.

"I feel so comfortable in Pahrump and I am impressed by Mountain Falls," Line said. "Everybody here is so nice and friendly. I've already met my neighbors even though I just moved in the week of Labor Day."

Line visited the Mountain Falls community in June and purchased a 1,614-square-foot Plan Three model at Cascata Ancora by William Lyon Homes.

The single-story neighborhood offers four floor plans measuring from 1,429 to 1,774 square feet and priced from the high $100,000s.

Among Line's hobbies is writing poetry. "I didn't know that I had this talent until I was older because I was too busy doing other things," Line said, adding that two of her poems have been published.

To visit Mountain Falls from Las Vegas, travel about 45 miles west on State Route 160 (Blue Diamond Road) past Interstate 15.

Before reaching Pahrump, turn left on Manse Road. Proceed to Hafen Ranch and turn right.
