Reuters: Singapore casino regulators investigate alleged illegal activities

Singapore casino regulators are investigating allegations that casino junket representatives are already doing business despite the fact none has yet been licensed, according to the Business Times and Reuters news service.

Reuters: “’CRA has to-date received some information alleging illegal activities in the casinos,’ a spokesman for the casino regulator said was quoted as telling the Business Times after comments on the subject by Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson.”

Continuing: “Junket operators and representatives that meet regulatory requirements under the Casino Control Act and the Casino Control (Junkets) Regulations would be allowed to operate in Singapore after being licensed by the CRA, the Business Times said. However, no such operator has yet been licensed.”
