Rhodes Ranch hosts golfing event

The Rhodes Ranch Golf Club recently hosted the seventh annual Tee Up for Kids Charity Golf Tournament, benefiting The Public Education Foundation. The May 18 event was attended by more than 100 golfers and raised thousands of dollars for the organization that benefits Las Vegas Valley public schools.

Rhodes Homes' annual commitment to The Public Education Foundation is anchored through a series of sponsorships, donations and events held throughout the year. The cornerstone of the relationship comes with Rhodes Homes Vice President of Interior and Architectural Design Glynda Rhodes, who sits on the Foundation's board of directors.

"Golf tournaments are a great way to get people engaged in helping out organizations in need, in terms of raising money, but also in raising awareness," Rhodes said. "The opportunity to do something good on behalf of people that work so hard to improve education in our community, is one that Rhodes Homes cannot pass up."

She said since the home builder first began its relationship with The Public Education Foundation, it has donated several hundred thousand dollars that have assisted the organization's efforts on behalf of students in public schools.

"As a home builder that's built numerous homes in master-planned communities and individual neighborhoods across the valley, we understand that many people that own our homes -- including our families -- have children in the public school system," Rhodes said. "Doing everything we can to assist The Public Education Foundation is a high priority for Rhodes Homes."

Inspired by a belief that improving public schools was too big a task for a school district to undertake alone, The Public Education Foundation was established 16 years ago to work with teachers to provide students with the support necessary to not only succeed in the classroom, but to succeed in life, Foundation president Judi Steele said.

The Rhodes Ranch Golf Club is part of Rhodes Ranch, a 1,375-acre master-planned community. The development is expected to consist of about 9,000 homes by the time it is completed. Home sales are underway for The Collection, Palms Bay and Pacific Mist neighborhoods. Prices in Rhodes Ranch start in the $300,000s.

The Collection offers three different series -- the Monet, Matisse and Van Gogh. Homes in The Collection range from 1,467 to 4,138 square feet. For more information on The Collection call 740-4111.

Palms Bay offers three two-story models ranging from 1,734 to 2,400 square feet and is in the heart of the master plan. The two-story homes in Palms Bay have two-car garages and three or four bedrooms. To find out more, call 438-6006.
