Rhodes Ranch’s Fun Zone brings splash of summer

Memorial Day marked the official opening of the Fun Zone Water Park at Rhodes Ranch. The 10,000-square-foot water park, featuring a 13,000-square-foot lagoon pool with wading areas, will be open to residents of the master-planned community through Labor Day.

"Rhodes Homes has spent many years planning and constructing this incredible water park," said Glynda Rhodes, vice president of interior and architectural design for Rhodes Homes. "We are very pleased with how the facility has turned out and we believe the homeowners will be thrilled to have it in their own backyards."

Included in the Fun Zone are three speed slides, five kid slides, rope bridges, multiple squirt gun stations and a 1,000-gallon bucket that fills and tips every half hour.

The water park is free for residents and their guests and also includes a 25-meter lap pool; two eight-person spas; a 12-person group spa; four large covered cabanas; one exterior lighted basketball court; two sand volleyball courts; four lighted tennis courts; and a children's play area with activity structures.

"Rhodes Ranch is the only master-planned community in the valley that offers an amenity such as this," Rhodes said.

"Careful thought went into determining what features the outdoor recreation area should include. Some aspects of the design were changed near the end of construction in response to feedback from both the homeowners and the staff of the R-Club. It is this type of working together that has helped Rhodes Ranch become one of the premier communities in the valley."

Homeowners and visitors to Rhodes Ranch are required to watch a 7-minute safety video prior to receiving access to the Fun Zone. The video runs continuously in the R-Club great room and the front desk staff can assist with necessary information and paperwork.

The community's 35,000-square-foot recreation center, the R-Club, shares the 7-acre site on which the Fun Zone is located.

Open since the fall of 2005, the R-Club includes an indoor workout facility with weights and cardiovascular equipment, a full-length basketball court, two racquetball/handball courts and six billiards tables. In addition to fitness amenities, the facility has social areas with three fireplaces and seating.

The facility offers group classes such as Pilates, yoga, kickboxing, core/abs, total body conditioning and circuit training in its group exercise room. Personal trainers are also available by appointment.

Residents of the master-planned community have access to a host of amenities including its par-72, signature Ted Robinson-designed 18-hole golf course. The guard-gated community offers 24-hour roving security patrols and is currently selling homes in The Collection, Saybrook, Palms Bay and Pacific Mist neighborhoods in proximity to The R-Club.

The Collection offers the Monet, Matisse and Van Gogh series of homes, each with accompanying models, designs and amenities. The homes range from 1,467 to 4,138 square feet. For more information on The Collection, call 740-4111.

Rhodes Ranch's newest community, Saybrook, offers two floor plans at 3,021 and 3,431 square feet. The two-story Model 3021 includes three bedrooms, three baths, a den, loft and two-car garage. Model 3431 is also a two-story home and includes five bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, loft and three-car tandem garage. For information on this newly released neighborhood, call 416-8801.

Palms Bay offers three two-story models ranging from 1,734 to 2,400 square feet. The homes include two-car garages and three or four bedrooms. For more information on Palms Bay, call 438-6006.

Pacific Mist offers three floor plans with three elevations available for each model. The two-story homes have two-car garages and range from 1,720 to 2,255 square feet with either three or four bedrooms. For more information, call 798-5006.

Sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information on Rhodes Homes and its communities, visit rhodeshomes.com.
