Road Trip! And we’re done
February 10, 2011 - 7:28 pm
We pushed through Oregon this morning and into Washington this evening. Though we're still about 90 minutes from Seattle, we'll call this the end of this blog series.
It's been great to have you all (well, almost all of you) along. You've provided great advice. Some of you have given me many recommendations for Seattle and I'm sure we'll get to some of them. But the next few days will be spent doing grandkid things.
Then we'll take a straight shot down I-5, turn left on I-80 and head into Nevada. We'll drive by Nevada's seat of government in Carson City give everyone a big wave (all five fingers, I promise) and then head home. Here are a few shots of the final leg of the journey.
Everytime you think you've seen all the beauty the Oregon coast can muster, it surprises you once again.
More beautiful Oregon coastline.
One of the sights to see is the Tillamook Cheese factory in (where else?) Tillamook, Oregon. The mascot of the local high school? The Tillamook Cheesemakers.
This is the view leaving Oregon and crossing the bridge at Astoria into Washington. The bridge is a 4-mile marvel. Thanks everyone for being virtual riders with me on this trip.
