Rough landing for small plane closes runway in North Las Vegas
A small airplane landed abruptly at the North Las Vegas Airport around 2 p.m. Thursday shutting down the runway for an hour.
The small, four-seat plane had two people on board when it hit the runway without fully extending its landing gear, according to McCarran International Airport spokesperson Christine Crews.
There was no fire and no reported injuries, Crews said.
It is unknown where the airplane was coming from or if it was supposed to land at the North Las Vegas Airport, Crews said.
The runway re-opened around 3 p.m. The National Transportation Safety Board will conduct an investigation into the landing.
