Ryland to hold school drive today

Ryland Homes celebrates back to school with its inaugural school supply drive today from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Catania in Henderson.

Through the end of the month, the homebuilder is working with the Clark County School District's School-Community Partnership Program to collect school supplies donations for at-risk students in Clark County.

The public is invited to bring donations to today's event, enjoy refreshments and learn about the School-Community Partnership Program.

Recommended donations include pencils, paper, scissors, glue sticks, pencil boxes, crayons, highlighters, erasers and tissues.

Donations can be made at any Ryland Homes sales center through Aug. 31. Visitors can be entered into a drawing for a back-to-school laptop computer.

"Growing up, the excitement we experienced on the first day of school with our new backpacks and supplies are those we will remember forever," said Dana Rogers, president of Ryland Homes.

Today's event, sponsored in part by Evergreen Recycling, will be at Ryland's Catania community in Henderson. Catania offers four single-family plans that range from 1,626 to 2,169 square feet with prices starting in the mid-$100,000s.

Ryland's Jasmine, is within the same gated neighborhood and showcases a collection of two-story townhomes ranging from 1,479 to 1,682 square feet. Pricing start in the low-$100,000s.

Community amenities include pool, spa and clubhouse.

One block north is the Cordova Estates collection. It offers three single-family home designs ranging from 2,400 to 3,039 square feet in single- and two-story plans.

Floor plans offer as many as six bedrooms, three baths and a three-car garage option. Pricing starts in the mid-$200,000s.
