Sandoval has issues
Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Sandoval has added an "issues" page to his website.
Sandoval is the leading candidate in polls testing both the Republican primary and the general election.
But he's taken criticism from his opponents for allegedly being unwilling to take firm stands on tough issues.
For months Sandoval's campaign website was the only one without a page dedicated to his stand on policy matters.
No more.
The site now has Sandoval's stances on nine issues. Here's a brief summary of them.
Taxes: He's against raising them.
The Constitution: He likes it, especially the parts about guns and states' rights.
Crime: He's against it, particularly crimes by public officials. He's also in favor of the death penalty for people who commit "the worst crimes".
Education: He supports it, says no more teacher pay based on seniority, give parents choices between public and private schools, no "social promotion" for the kids.
Health care: Doesn't like the feds' Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, supports Nevada being in the lawsuit to block it.
Immigration: Likes secure borders, says punish businesses who hire illegal immigrants, don't let illegal immigrants have driver licenses, welcome people who come to U.S. legally.
Abortion: Says he's pro-choice, but has a list of caveats about partial birth and late term abortion and doesn't support federal funding to pay for it.
