Sen. Ensign and the trust thing
Ethically challenged Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev., Seldom Seen) hasn’t exactly made himself available to the press much lately as he’s ducked devastating questions about his actions following his affair with a former staffer.
But that doesn’t mean he’s incapable of uttering a memorable quote. Just ask the folks at Google.
One of my favorite new quotes from Senator Sanctimony: “I have a little alert to tell Washington. … The people don’t trust us. They don’t trust us to make these decisions.”
What’s so pathetic about Ensign’s tired routine is, he still appears to believe he’s some sort of Washington outsider instead of a guy who has courted power and then botched his big chance to become a major player on the national scene.
