Shakeup in the Clark County Republican Party
December 10, 2009 - 10:29 pm
There was a bit of a shakeup Thursday night with the Clark County Republican Party.
At least eight party officials resigned from their volunteer positions.
The list, according to communication director Ron Futrell, who was among those to step down, is as follows, in no particular order: (titles taken from CCRP Web site)
-Heather Kydd, secretary
-Martha Kimpel, executive board member District F
-Christine DeCorte, finance director
-Swadeep Nigam, treasurer
-Ron Futrell, communications director
-Richard Scotti, chairman
-Melody Howard, executive board member District C
-Norm Yeager, executive board member District A
Earlier in the day Thursday Scotti said he was stepping down to work on the campaign of gubernatorial candidate Brian Sandoval.
Futrell stepped down so he could work as a consultant to candidates, such as congressional candidate Joe Heck.
Futrell said there was no overarching ideological reason for why eight people stepped down at once.
"There was nothing that I saw that was a consistent theme," he said. "A lot of people had their own personal reasons."
