Shall we give Harry the Reid treatment?
January 12, 2013 - 11:00 am
One of the more despicable things Sen. Harry Reid has done of late was to float a bogus story about then-GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
Reid used his position and media access to say that he had a "source" that knows that Mitt Romney hasn't paid any taxes in 10 years.
Romney denied the "don't you kick your dog" allegation. When Romney released his tax returns, it was shown false. Yet, Reid stuck to his story.
Well looky, looky what's come to us this morning in the "what goes around comes around" file.
A Salt Lake businessman gave a $600,000 bribe to get Harry Reid to squash a federal investigation. Allegedly, of course.
Shall we do to Reid what Reid tried to do to Romney? It would look like this:
I have a "source" that says that Harry Reid takes bribes all the time. In fact, if you want anything done out of his office, you must come with a suitcase of cash just to get an audience. That's how he's gotten so rich on a senator's salary. He stashes his money in an offshore bank account. And, as a sidebar for Salt Lake church execs, he hasn't tithed on that bribe money.
PS: I am making that up, just like Reid made up his Romney story. But in trying to construct the equivalent to Reid's behavior you realize just how hard it is to get lower than Harry Reid.
PPS: Join me Sunday for more on Harry Reid in which I will argue (convincingly, I might add) that Nevadans have got to stop making excuses for him. It'll be posted here at about 2 a.m. PST.
