Sharron Angle’s U.S. Senate campaign fixing FEC report flaws

Sharron Angle's U.S. Senate campaign said today it's correcting a financial report the Repubilcan filed in 2009 after federal regulators said the numbers didn't all add up.
The Federal Election Commission sent Angle's campaign a letter requesting information about some donors and debts, Angle's campaign spokesman Jerry Stacey confirmed.
"The treasurer was sent a letter of request to amend information. The treasure is making corrections and is still waiting for additional information from some donors who did not complete necessary information such as their occupation title before resubmitting his report next week to the FEC as requested," Stacey said, referring to the campaign's treasurer.
Stacey said the letter wasn't an "enforcement matter," which is more serious, but instead a request to clear up questions and make sure the filings are correct.
According to News 4, a television station in Reno, the FEC letter asked Angle's campaign for clarification on four items reported on her campaign finance report from the end of 2009.
In one section of the report, for example, the campaign filed different numbers for cash on hand, according to the TV station that obtained the FEC letter.
The campaign said it ended the third quarter of 2009 with $76,000 in cash, but started the next quarter, which began the next day with negative $45,000; a $121,000 difference.
There was also a long list of debts that weren't reported, ranging from $700 to $30,000, the TV report said. The letter asks the Angle campaign why the debts, which were listed on one report, weren't listed as paid or still outstanding on the following report.
Angle has until the end of next week to respond to the FEC letter.
Angle is one of a dozen Republicans vying in the June 8 primary for the chance to face U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, the Democratic leader of the Senate, in the fall.
