Shock report: The guy who forecasts state $$ files BK

In the "You-Gotta-Be-Kidding" category comes the news this morning: John M. Restrepo, chairman of the five-member State Economic Forum for Nevada, filed for bankruptcy.

To make the report all the more shocking, he filed not this week -- but last November! In the meanwhile, he has continued in his job in forecasting the state's revenue throughout this legislative session.

Who knew? Anyone? Bueller ... Bueller.

(Postscript: Dave Berns is kicking more than a little butt lately in his reports, such as this one. But, if I may be so bold as to point out that this story was sitting around uncovered for seven months. How does every political, court and business reporter miss this story until now? Oremus pro invicem.)
