SHOOTING STARS EXTRA: Casting call set Saturday for tattoo artists

Do you tattoo? And would you do TV? If so, now's your chance — because "Best Ink," an upcoming Oxygen reality show, is looking for great inkers at an open casting call Saturday in Las Vegas.

Produced by Bunim-Murray — the folks behind reality shows from "Real World" to "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" — "Best Ink" (a working title) will showcase a dozen tattoo artists competing for cash, and bragging rights, as they participate in a variety of challenges. The show's scheduled for production this spring at an as-yet undetermined location.

The casting call will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Tommy Rocker's, 4275 Dean Martin Drive. The minimum age to apply is 21; if you're interested, bring a photo ID, a recent photo (which will not be returned) and photos of your tattoo artistry (which will be returned).

Las Vegas and Miami are the final stops on a 10-city casting tour that stretched from Seattle to Boston, Dallas to Chicago.

If you can't make the local tryout, however, send an e-mail to bestinkcasting@bunim-murray.com (with "Las Vegas" in the heading of your e-mail) and include your name, phone number, city, short biography, several recent photos and photos of your tattoo work. (Submissions without photos will not be accepted.)

For more information, check the Bunim-Murray website at www.bunim-murray.com.
