SHOOTING STARS EXTRA: No ‘Deal’ at the Trop

It's official: CBS' revival of the venerable "Let's Make a Deal" has left the building. The Tropicana, to be specific.

Hosted by sometime Venetian headliner Wayne Brady, "Let's Make a Deal" taped at the Tropicana Pavilion from September through December of 2009.

The show recently concluded its first season — not in Las Vegas, but at Hollywood's Sunset Bronson Studios.

"Deal's" production company, FremantleMedia North America, is awaiting word from CBS whether the game show will be picked up for a second season. But even if it is, that season won't be at the Tropicana, according to sources.

The primary reason the show taped in Las Vegas was because of Brady's Venetian gig, but that became a moot point when "vocal strain" prompted Brady to cancel his showroom dates while "Deal" was in production last fall.

Now that "Deal" has finished its first (and, perhaps, last) season, Brady's scheduled to return to The Venetian May 27.
