Silver lining for Kate Marshall?

If there is a silver lining for Kate Marshall in losing the U.S. House race last month for the 2nd Congressional District, perhaps it is this: She finished with no debt, and in fact has $25,278 in the bank for her next race, whatever it may be.

Marshall filed the customary post-election finance report with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday. Closing the book on the Democrat's campaign, she raised $811,425 and spent $764,695.

A finance report for the victor, now-Rep. Mark Amodei, was not yet available.

A few days after the Sept. 13 election, Marshall, who remains state treasurer, told Ed Vogel of the Review-Journal she is not ruling out the possibility of running again for higher office. But when and for what office remains to be seen.
