Southern Highlands holds third annual Fall Festival, Fun Walk
Southern Highlands Golf Club Charitable Foundation along with former baseball player Wally Joyner will kick off its third annual Fall Festival, 5-K Run and 1-Mile Fun Walk Oct. 27 to benefit Boys Hope Girls Hope and Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada.
Cash prizes for overall winners include $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $150 for third place for both men and women.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race will start at 9 a.m.
Festival activities will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
They include carnival games, Halloween costume contest for children, trick-or-treating, a pumpkin patch, face painting, balloon characters, live music, bingo for adults, a rock-climbing wall and barbecue lunch.
In addition, the event will feature a raffle for a chance to win a helicopter tour for two to the Grand Canyon.
All proceeds will benefit the selected charities.

Southern Highlands Golf Club Charitable Foundation raised more than $120,000 last year.
The Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada is a nonprofit organization that promotes a positive understanding and education of Down Syndrome.
Boys Hope Girls Hope helps academically capable and motivated children in need by providing homes and education.
