THEATER SEEKS VOLUNTEER USHERS FOR UPCOMING SHOWS
The Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3920 Schiff Drive, is looking for volunteer ushers for two upcoming shows.
“Boston Marriage” is set through Sept. 21 at the Black Box, and “Mrs. Mannerly” is planned for Sept. 12-28 at the Mainstage.
Productions are planned to run at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays, with a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee.
Tickets start at $21 for “Mrs. Mannerly” and $10 for “Boston Marriage.”

SPRINGS PRESERVE PLANS DRIP IRRIGATION CLASS
The Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. plans a free Drip Irrigation Basics class from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 13.
Attendees can learn to design drip-irrigation systems, including installation and assembling components.

GARDEN WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED
The Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd, has scheduled Garden Workshops: Building Soils and Growing Vegetables from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 20.
Participants can learn how to develop healthy soil and pick up fall planting tips. The cost is $10 for members or $15 for nonmembers.
Another class, Botanicals and Beyond: Plants with a Purpose, is set for 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Sept. 20. Attendees can explore native Mojave desert plants with medicinal, ritual and edible properties. The cost is $3 for members or $5 for nonmembers.

WEEKLY CLASSES TO TEACH PARENTS AND CHILDREN ABOUT HEALTHY EATING
University Medical Center plans a free parenting education workshop series for children ages 3-5 and their parents at the Family Resource Center, 1120 Shadow Lane.

TRAIN CONDUCTORS SOUGHT FOR OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE EVENTS
Opportunity Village, 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., is seeking volunteer conductors to drive the Forest Express Passenger Train during the nonprofit’s annual Magical Forest and HallOVeen events.
Classes are planned from 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. Anyone interested should contact Jane Bjorklund at 702-880-4038 or bjorklundj@opportunityvillage.org. A driver’s license is not required, but volunteers must be at least 18.
HallOVeen is set for 6-10 p.m. Oct. 3-5, 10-12, 17-19, 24-26 and 30-31. The Magical Forest is slated for Nov. 21-Jan. 4, with hours planned from 5:30-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:30-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
BLOOD DRIVE SCHEDULED SATURDAYS AT SPRING VALLEY LIBRARY
The Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd., plans to host a blood drive from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. every Saturday.
Donors are slated to receive a free cholesterol test and 600 points that can be redeemed for prizes in the United Blood Services Blood Hero program.
