State Of The Union: ‘What difference does it make?’
February 12, 2013 - 8:57 am
When it comes to tonight's State Of The Union address, the bottom line in terms of what it means to the average American is easy to predict. To borrow a phrase from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: "What difference does it make?"
I long ago developed OSF — "Obama Speech Fatigue," so his lilting eloquence doesn't work on me. And as anyone with half a critical brain knows, what Obama says bears little resemblance to what he does.
He started his first term promising to fix the economy. He said jobs would be his No. 1 priority. He said he thinks of nothing — nothing! — but jobs.
Instead, we got an economy from President Obama is worse than when he took office. Instead of giving Americans the freedom and justice of a meaningful job, President Obama enslaved more citizens in welfare. He raised taxes and screwed up health care.
Misery under this president is greater than at anytime in recent memory.
So, President Obama will address the nation once again. And he'll say anything and everything about the economy, the world, etc.
But in the end, you gotta ask: What difference does it make?
