Street of Dreams event about to come true

For the third consecutive time, the luxury development of MacDonald Highlands will host the Street of Dreams event in the spring of 2011, showcasing custom home designs.

Local builders and other participants are currently in the lot selection process. The event will be held in Highlander Ridge, a new neighborhood within MacDonald Highlands in Henderson. Lots within Highlander Ridge feature panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip and overlook private DragonRidge Country Club.

Street of Dream Inc. is the a producer of luxury home shows in North America. Since 1985, the company has produced 82 of its trademarked Street of Dreams events, attracting more than 3.5 million visitors and generating $578 million in new-home sales revenue.

"We are honored and excited to be returning to MacDonald Highlands for what will be our third Street of Dreams event held within this unique community" said Bryan Ashbaugh, chief executive officer of Street of Dreams Inc. "Once again, MacDonald Highlands has provided a magnificent venue for Street of Dreams and the views of the Strip from the new location are unbelievable".

"Street of Dreams events are great marketing tools for the custom residential industry and are educational and entertaining for the public," Ashbaugh said. "Each of the previous events attracted an average of 40,000 admission-paying visitors who spend up to three hours touring the totally decked-out show homes. One of the events saw multiple offers to buy on the first day of the show. Where else can one spend several hours viewing beautiful new ultra-luxury homes, seeing all the latest trends and innovations in design, electronics, colors and furnishings?"

MacDonald Highlands has four custom home neighborhoods under development with custom lots that provide a variety of choices for buyers. Each neighborhood features its own distinct topography and views. Buyers can choose from a variety of terrains including golf frontage, multi-level pads or hillside elevations with views of the golf course, mountain range and dramatic views of the Las Vegas skyline. These custom lots range from a quarter of an acre to more than two acres.

DragonRidge Country Club is located in MacDonald Highlands. This secluded 18-hole course with its fairways, greens and tee boxes was sculpted and carved by famed designers Jay Moorish and David Druzisky who placed the golf course back into the canyons utilizing dramatic elevation changes throughout.

The award-winning clubhouse, built of stone and glass, features a gourmet steak house with views of the Las Vegas Strip, two mixed grills and lounges, a new 14,000-square-foot fitness center, swimming pool, children's pool and an extensive golf pro shop.

DragonRidge will become home to Nevada's only Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf this spring. Private golf membership to DragonRidge Country Club is limited, giving members and their guests a choice of tee times for frequent and leisurely play. A complementary social membership to the country club is provided to lot owners upon application approval, according to company officials.

The information center is at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway., at the intersection of Valle Verde Drive.

To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, east to Valle Verde and travel south to the corner of Valle Verde Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway. The office is open daily. For more information or to schedule a private tour, call 614-9100.
