Subie Invasion returns to Las Vegas for sixth year
An estimated 250 Subaru enthusiasts will invade several locations as part of the sixth annual Subie Invasion presented by Subaru of Las Vegas along with Subaru of America and DC Shoes.
Run in partnership with Flat4 Las Vegas, a Subaru car club, the event is presented each year in conjunction with the Specialty Equipment Market Association convention, which features aftermarket parts.
The Subie event began Thursday with the Flat4 In-N-Out meet at the In-N-Out Burger on West Sahara Ave. It drew about 400 Subaru enthusiasts from all over the world.
Saturday's festivities will include a Subaru-only car show at the dealership situated at 5385 W. Sahara Ave. along with a Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals pet adoption and a barbecue. A village will feature raffles, free food from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., along with a radio remote with KXNT 840 AM.
Also on Saturday at Subaru of Las Vegas, Subaru of America will debut its new secret project Subaru car while the dealership will show a unique 1969 Subaru 360 van. In addition, Subaru of Las Vegas' new performance department Zenkai Motorsports will showcase award-winning show cars along with performance parts and accessories at the dealership.
On Sunday, a Subie-only group drive will begin at 10 a.m. at In-N-Out Burger before traveling to Mount Charleston. Subaru owners will be able to test their vehicles' handling and safety on the twisty roads of Mount Charleston.
"SEMA is the biggest aftermarket automotive convention in the world," said Yujiro Otsuki, marketing coordinator for Subaru of Las Vegas. "However, it is also closed to the public, and our gathering is open to anyone. It's a family-friendly event where people get to see the cars from the SEMA show while attending our gathering."
