Sullivan Square designs for market living
April 21, 2007 - 9:00 pm
Sullivan Square's live/work spaces will situate residences directly above retail stores on the mixed-use, mid-rise development's market street.
The concept of combining living and working space above a retail center, which will also serve as a community gathering place, is an appealing amenity that several future live/work residents like Jamie Rice who relocated to Las Vegas last year, said they are familiar with and excited about.
"I once had a loft in Los Angeles," Rice said, "with restaurants and shops just outside my front door. I have missed that lifestyle of having everything right at my fingertips and I am thrilled to soon have it again at Sullivan Square."
Rice has reserved a unit on floors two and three for her live/work space. "I like the idea of being above the exciting buzz of what is happening on the main street," she said. "I am also a very social person and like to know who my neighbors are and have an easy opportunity to interact with them."
Rice said she appreciates plans for the development's design and architecture in addition to its lifestyle.
"The neighborhood is going to be beautiful. It strikes me as something I have seen in other cities. The quality of the homes is exactly what I was looking for. So much so that I am moving from a home with significant square footage to a 700-square-foot live/work space," Rice said.
Interiors of the live/work designs will include wood flooring in the kitchen, main living area and dining room, quartz stone countertops with glass mosaic backsplashes and Italian designed cabinetry in the kitchen and washrooms. Residents may also opt to purchase the retail space below their living quarters for retail use -- expanding upon the 25 shops and services planned for its market street.
Upon completion, Sullivan Square will consist of as many as 1,300 residences. Units in the first phase range from 500 to 2,000 square feet with prices from the low $300,000s to $1.7 million.
Residences in Sullivan Square's live/work spaces and traditional brownstones are available for reservation. Residences in the project's first high-rise are available for sale.
The neighborhood will soon offer mid-rise terraced condominiums, Chicago-style lofts and townhomes, completing the community's six options of urban living.
Located at Sunset and Durango roads just off Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, the development will be situated at the center of Las Vegas Valley's emerging West Village where 400 acres are zoned for high-density, mixed-use development, 10,000 housing units, several hundred thousand square feet of retail space and several million square feet of office space.
The Sullivan Square sales center is located at 8930 Spanish Ridge Ave. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily. To visit, from 215 South, exit Russell Road and head north on Frontage Road.
