DIABETES CLASS COMING AUG. 23 TO MOUNTAINVIEW HOSPITAL
An adult outpatient diabetes class on nutrition is planned from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at MountainView Hospital, 3100 N. Tenaya Way, in Suite 230 on the second floor of the medical office building.

TRAVEL CLUB TO MEET AT TAP HOUSE
The Las Vegas Single Social and Travel Club for Mature Adults plans to meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Tap House, 5589 W. Charleston Blvd.
The meet-and-greet portion is set to start at 6:30 p.m. Meeting discussions focus on day trips, local events, in-state and out-of-state traveling, cruises and international traveling.

AUG. 25 SHOW TO FEATURE ARTISTS AT URBAN RANCH GENERAL STORE
The "Artist's Gallery Show" is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 25 at Urban Ranch General Store, 6985 W. Sahara Ave., Suite 105.
Featured artists include: M K Santos on "art weaving," grafting additional mediums to woven textures; Kenny Karchmer on wood work with contrasting glass, stone or other rustic materials to create 3-D wall sculptures; Mary Jane Chadbourne and her mixed-media collage, which uses color, texture, metals and glass; and Urban Ranch owner and artist Durette Candito and her clay mixed-media jewelry.

SIGN UP FOR ALUMNI FOOTBALL LEAGUE
A full-contact almuni football league is taking sign-ups for games to be played by complete high school rules with helmets and pads. Games are scheduled for December, with locations and times to be announced. Roster spaces are limited to first 40 players to sign up for each team.

WARD 4 BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR SET FOR FRIDAY
A free Ward 4 Back-to-School Fair and Movie in the Park event is planned for 6 p.m. Friday at Bruce Trent Park, 8851 Vegas Drive. It is sponsored by the city of Las Vegas and Mayor Pro Tem Stavros Anthony.
School supplies will be given out while supplies last. The fire department will be on hand to promote CPR awareness. Food vendors also are planned, and the movie "Tangled" is set to be shown at dusk.

CHILDREN'S EVENT AT TIVOLI VILLAGE TO BENEFIT BABY'S BOUNTY
Kids Fest is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kidville at Tivoli Village, 420 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 130.
The event is set to benefit local charity Baby's Bounty and feature a 30-minute concert from the award-winning Little Maestros class, gym games, arts and crafts, and age-appropriate snacks. All attendees will receive special promotions for the upcoming inaugural semester.

BUNCO TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
Team United is hosting its third annual Bunco Tournament to benefit the American Cancer Society Making Strides against Breast Cancer. The tournament is scheduled for 5 p.m. Aug. 26 at UnitedHealthcare, 2716 N. Tenaya Way.
Tickets are $15 for Bunco only and $25 for Bunco and dinner. The evening includes dinner (optional), entertainment and prizes.
