Summerlin celebrates ‘eggstra’ special Easter

More than 2,000 Summerlin residents gathered for the 15th annual egg hunt in the master-planned community of Summerlin. The annual spring event, held at The Trails Park March 31, featured a candy- and-egg hunt for children ages 0 to 11, games and activities, petting zoo, entertainment and appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny.

The highlight of this year's egg hunt was the 10th birthday celebration of Summerlin Sam, the community's beloved jackrabbit mascot, who was introduced to the community in March 1997.

The Easter event is one of nearly two dozen annual special events planned exclusively for Summerlin residents by The Summerlin Council, the nonprofit arm of the Summerlin Community Association.
