Summerlin homes features myriad styles, locations

The master-planned community of Summerlin currently offers more than 100 floor plans, according to Peggy Chandler, senior vice president of community development of The Howard Hughes Corp., an affiliate of General Growth Properties and developer of Summerlin.

"With thousands of acres left to develop in Summerlin, home building and development activity in the community remains strong," she said. "Today, there are more than a dozen home builders actively selling in The Canyons, The Mesa, The Paseos, The Vistas, Summerlin Centre and The Ridges villages."

According to Chandler, home styles include condominiums, townhomes, a selection of single-family one- and two-story homes, urban-style three-story homes, lofts, semi-custom and custom homes.

"There's a size for just about every family and every budget," Chandler said.

Homes range from 644 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet and are priced from the low $200,000s to more than $2 million.

"Summerlin has become a household name in southern Nevada over the past 17 years," Chandler said of the 22,500-acre community.

"Long regarded as one of the valley's most desirable addresses, Summerlin boasts an impressive list of amenities that has created the lifestyle for which the community has come to be known," she said.

"The parks, trails, schools, golf courses, shopping centers and beautifully landscaped streets and common areas are all reasons why home buyers choose Summerlin.

"And today, the community's wide array of homes is just one more reason Summerlin is at the top of the list for those in the market for a new home."

Summerlin, which began to take shape in 1990, is a 22,500-acre master-planned community located along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley and is currently home to more than 95,000 residents.

The community has 7,500 acres still to develop, including Summerlin Centre.

The community is home to 100-plus neighborhoods and village parks, more than 150 completed miles of the Summerlin Trail System, 19 public and private schools, houses of worship, shopping centers and medical facilities.

In addition to the community's selection of single-family homes, custom home sites in The Ridges are priced from the $500,000s. Luxury apartment homes offer monthly rents starting from the low $1,000s.
