Summerlin teams up with Pulte
The Howard Hughes Corp., an affiliate of General Growth Properties and developer of Summerlin, announces that Pulte Homes will develop the community's next single-builder village. To be named Reverence, the village is planned to be the community's greenest and most environmentally sensitive village.
Situated on the northernmost parcel of land in Summerlin, 300 acres will comprise an entire village within the community's master plan. The property is located west of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, and bounded by West Lake Mead Boulevard on the south and Cheyenne Avenue on the north.
"Reverence is significant for a number of reasons," said Kevin Orrock, top division executive of The Howard Hughes Corp. "First and foremost, it will be designed and developed using methods and standards that are in line with the latest green-building practices that will set a new standard for environmentally sensitive residential development in Summerlin, Southern Nevada and the country.
"Secondly, Reverence will be developed exclusively by Pulte Homes as Summerlin's next single-builder village and will remain within the Summerlin Community Association to afford its residents all the benefits of a Summerlin address, including access to all community-wide amenities and activities."
According to Peggy Chandler, senior vice president of land development for The Howard Hughes Corp., who has overseen the sale of land in Summerlin since its inception, Pulte Homes' track record as a successful, quality developer in Southern Nevada bodes well for the development of Reverence.
Pulte Homes began its association with the master-planned community and Howard Hughes Corp., with Pulte's first Summerlin community in the early 1990s, according to Chandler.
"As the developer of more than 25,000 acres in the Las Vegas Valley, The Howard Hughes Corp. has long recognized its obligation to be a steward of the land," Chandler said. "The company's dedication to preserving the environment has been demonstrated in many ways over the years -- from preservation and protection of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area -- to Summerlin's leadership in promoting strong public acceptance of desert landscaping throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Reverence will set the bar for a new level of environmentally sensitive development."
While specific development details for Reverence have not yet been announced, the village is expected to include as many as 1,500 attached and detached homes in numerous price ranges. Groundbreaking is planned for this fall.
Summerlin began to take shape in 1990. The 22,500-acre master-planned community is located along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley.
The community is home to more than 93,000 residents. With 7,500 acres still to develop, including its urban core, Summerlin Centre, Summerlin includes more than 100 neighborhood and village parks, more than 120 completed miles of the Summerlin Trail System, 19 public and private schools, houses of worship, shopping centers, medical, cultural and business facilities and more than 60 model homes.
Homes are available in a variety of styles -- from single-family to townhomes, condominiums and lofts -- priced from the low $200,000s to more than $1 million. Custom home sites in The Ridges are priced from the $500,000s. Luxury apartment homes offer monthly rents starting from the low $1,000s.
