ARTIFACT RAISING FUNDS FOR HEART ASSOCIATION FEBRUARY
Artifact, 420 S. Rampart Blvd. inside the Market LV at Tivoli Village, plans to host Love Locks during February. Its Love & Lock Wish Gate allows one to purchase a lock for $5 to $50, which is then secured to the wish gate.

FREE TAX PREPARATION AVAILABLE FOR THOSE 50 OR OLDER
AARP is offering free tax form preparation for those 50 or older on Mondays and Thursdays through April 11, by appointment only. For Summerlin/Summerlin South View readers, the closest location is the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, 702-229-1702.

JEWISH GENEALOGY SOCIETY TO MEET SUNDAY AT SAHARA WEST LIBRARY
The Jewish Genealogy Society of Southern Nevada plans to host its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. Carole Montello is scheduled to be the guest speaker.
Meetings are open to the public, and there is no charge. The group meets at 1 p.m. the third Sunday of each month.

COMMODORE COMPUTER GROUP TO MEET SATURDAY AT TOTAL WINE & MORE
The Clark County Commodore Computer Group (aka 5C's) plans to meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Total Wine & More in Boca Park, 730 S. Rampart Blvd.
Demonstrations are set to include MIDI interface on the Commodore 64 and the Google Nexus 7 tablet. A free raffle/door prize, an AVG PC Tuneup, will be given away, and attendees will receive the January 5C's newsletter disk in Commodore format.

In celebration of American Heart Month and Valentine's Day, the YMCA of Southern Nevada is offering up to $75 in savings off a new individual or family membership and a free red pedometer for those who join Thursday through Saturday.

OUTING TO ATOMIC TESTING MUSEUM PLANNED FOR SENIORS
The active adults group for those 55 or older at Temple Beth Sholom plans to host an outing to the National Atomic Testing Museum, 755 E. Flamingo Road, at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 19. The Las Vegas Summerlin Lions Club plans to host its 12th annual Chinese New Year Dinner Dance from 5 to 10 p.m. Feb. 23 at the JW Marriott, 221 N. Rampart Blvd. Silent and live auctions are planned, and funds raised will help many charities, including the Lions Burn Care Center at University Medical Center; Blind Center of Nevada; Lions Sight First; City of Hope; Toys 4 Smiles; and Canine Companions for Independence.

CANCER TREATMENT CENTER ADDS TO FOCUS

TEAM IN TRAINING BEGINS FOR THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY
The Southern Nevada office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society announces its 2013 season of Team In Training, which teaches participants to complete half and full marathons while raising money and community awareness about blood cancers.
More than 50 participants are committing to run either the Nike Women's Marathon Half in April in Washington, D.C., or the Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon & Half Marathon in June.
Participants hope to raise, on average, $3,000 each to support the organization and run in the races dedicated to LLS.

GARDENING IN SMALL SPACES WORKSHOP SET FOR SATURDAY
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension plans to offer a workshop, Gardening in Small Places, from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 Paradise Road.
The class, taught by Dr. Angela O'Callaghan, will show students how to make the most of a small space. Topics are set to include containers to use, differences in potting mixes, using artificial light, fertilizers and success with seeds.
Class space is limited, and preregistration is required. There is a $25 fee, which includes class materials.
