‘Sweet’ pair purchase at Paxton
Jared and Samantha Sweet purchased their Paxton Walk townhome in the northwestern portion of the Las Vegas Valley because of the location, they said.
The couple lives in a 5,100-square-foot home that they love, according to Jared Sweet, a concrete company co-owner. But the home has become time-consuming to care for.
"The house was starting to overwhelm our spare time," Jared Sweet said.
Samantha Sweet is a personal trainer who uses her own experience losing more than 100 pounds to motivate her clients. The fitness center and clubhouse are across the street from the couple's 1,698-square-foot Wellington plan at Paxton Walk with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, two-car garage and private courtyard.
"I am excited about all the equipment in the fitness center and the exercise/Pilates room," she said.
Samantha Sweet owns a pink Schwinn Cruiser but also welcomes the idea of Paxton Walk bicycles that will be available for residents to use.
"The bicycles will be specially keyed for use by residents, who can ride them to the coffee shop, ice cream parlor, pool, clubhouse -- anywhere they'd like to visit at Paxton Walk," said Laurie Stevens, vice president of Blue Marble Development. "With so many shops, restaurants, fitness centers, pools, and clubhouses throughout our 31-acre development, we feel a bike is one of the best ways to navigate our neighborhood.'"
Because they live close by, the Sweets are frequent visitors to the Paxton Walk sales pavilion.
"We are expected to move into the townhome next spring," Jared Sweet said. "We already have sold this home and are renting it back for as long as we need it, so we will have no impediments to our moving experience. We are excited about Paxton Walk and are looking forward to becoming one of its first residents."
Townhomes at Paxton Walk is a series of 65 townhomes along Slade Avenue, the project's main street. The townhomes are 1,678 and 1,698 square feet. One floor plan has three bedrooms, the other has two bedrooms and a loft. Both have private courtyards and two-car garages.
Courtyards at Paxton Walk offers 175 flats or two-level condominiums in four-story buildings surrounding a secure garage with at-level parking and direct entry. Nine floor plans range from 726 square feet to 1532 square feet.
Paxton Square Town Center anchors the 31-acre mixed-use development. The first story includes 46,000 square feet for retail space including two 7,000-square-foot spaces designed for restaurants. The second story will offer 50,000 feet of office space. There are 72 one-level and loft residences planned for the third and fourth floors, which will overlook a 27,000-square-foot courtyard of landscaping, pathways and outdoor dining.
At project's end there will be a total of 717 condominiums. According to Stevens, the peninsular design maximizes views of mountains or the Strip and keeps all residents close to the common areas.
Amenities include multiple swimming pools, spas, fitness centers and recreation areas. The 9,000-square-foot main clubhouse includes a two-story great room, movie theater, billiards room, party rooms, library and business center.
Prices range from the $200,000s to the $500,000s.
A furnished model residence is open at the sales pavilion and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
