Tarkanian dips into his pocket to keep campaign going

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Danny Tarkanian is dipping into his own pockets to keep his primary campaign going.

According to his latest finance report, Tarkanian loaned his campaign more than $185,000. That's about half of the total $374,670 in receipts he reported for the pre-primary period of April 1 through May 19.

Tarkanian has raised $1,491,323 to date for his campaign, according to the report he filed with the Federal Election Commission.

He reported close to $86,565 in cash on hand as of May 19.

Tarkanian will likely burn through that quickly as the June 8 primary nears as he tries to catch up to GOP front-runners Sue Lowden and Sharron Angle, who are battling for the lead.
