Police in Greenbrier, Tenn., believe two two teens who died may have been drinking a cocktail of Mountain Dew and racing fuel, WZTV reports.
Greenbrier Police Chief K.D. Smith said he believes 16-year-old Logan Stephenson and his friend drank racing fuel, a type of gasoline, mixed with Mountain Dew on Wednesday in a high school parking lot.
"They noticed the color of his skin had changed and he started having a seizure. His hands started drawing up," Smith said. The next morning, police said, Stephenson was unresponsive.
Stephenson's friend, whose name has not yet been disclosed, was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center the same night. The Medical Center confirmed Tuesday that the boy died Monday afternoon.
Since the incident, Smith said two other teenage boys have admitted to drinking the same lethal mixture.
"Ask your children," Smith said. "Get them to be open and honest with you. Nobody is going to be in any trouble."
A family friend shared a GoFundMe account for Logan that will raise money for education and awareness about consuming toxic substances.
