TELEVISION: Travel show casting call set Friday at Miracle Mile’s V Theater
Some people live to travel. On Friday, however, locals have a chance to travel for a living as the upcoming travel TV series "Paradise Hunter" holds an open audition as part of its "52 Weeks Paid Vacation" competition.
The audition will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the V Theater inside Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile Shops. Two audition rooms will be set up in the theater. Candidates (18 and older) will have five minutes to explain, on camera, why he or she should be the new host of "Paradise Hunter." The videos will then be posted online so website visitors can vote for their favorites.
"When people watch our pilot episode, the comment we hear back most often is, 'How can I get that job?' says Dennis Kambeitz, CEO and founder of the Paradise Hunter website. "We thought it would be fun to open it up to everyone, and that way we should have lots of great applicants to choose from."
The planned series will showcase a variety of international destinations. In addition to an annual salary, the winning host also will choose a personal "piece of paradise" worth up to $150,000.
More information is available at www.ParadiseHunter.com. And don't worry if you can't make Friday's auditions, you can also apply online through Nov. 5.
