Terry Goodkind hosting book signing

  Southern Nevada author Terry Goodkind will sign and discuss “The Law of Nines” at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.
  Goodkind changes genres with this thriller, which features Alex Rahl, who saves the life of a beautiful woman whose existence he begins to doubt. Is the main character’s last name a nod to fans of the author’s “Sword of Truth” series, which included a hero named Richard Rahl and a villain named Darken Rahl? Someone will have to ask him during the signing!
  Goodkind has (finally!) embraced the Web and fans can find out more about the new book and events at terrygoodkind.com. He also has completed a six-minute short film to introduce readers to the book. From watching it, it looks like his fans won’t be disappointed with “The Law of Nines,” which hits stores Tuesday, Aug. 18.
