The day after

As the resident Nevada conservative, let me say that last night's election was like waking up on Christmas morning to find out your parents became Jehovah's Witness members on the way to the toy store. I know we're supposed to be grateful for our family and our parents and all. But what the hell happened to the tree and the presents, mom?

Look, getting outvoted in no way diminishes my belief that this president takes us down a path to fewer opportunities, lower expectations and a decidedly lesser future for our children.

What I fear is that by failing to say no to the expediency of the political tactic of appealing to the "gimme-something-for-free" crowd, we are headed straight to $8 a gallon gasoline, higher food prices and four more years of our children not finding meaningful work.

Resistance is not futile. Consider this your rebel base for the next four years.

PS: If I have insulted any Jehovah's Witness members out there, please forgive. I meant to insult those Democrats who pander at the expense of what's plainly good for the country.
