The good doctor: Romeo leaves lasting legacy

  In his 85 years, Dr. Donald “Doc” Romeo built an impressive record of accomplishment as a ringside physician, sports and family doctor, and youth sports coach and administrator. But I know he was most proud of his wife, the late Barbara Romeo, and their 11 children.

  Doc’s funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church at 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive, but he’d be delighted to know you took your family to enjoy the day at Doc Romeo Park at West Cheyenne Avenue and Ronemus Drive.
